Cruise Ship Photographer

KEY REQUIREMENTS:

SALES / RETAIL experience essential (Minimum of six (6) months experience in a customer service and/or retail sales environment)
PHOTOGRAPHY experience (Minimum of six (6) months) as a professional photographer or a certificate of completion from a training course specific to cruise ship photography)
ENGLISH - Intermediate to Advanced level English verbal and writing skills, including the proper use of English grammar is required

* Ship experience will be an advantage
* All photography equipment is provided onboard as well as flights and uniform

POSITION SUMMARY

​Photographers Level 1 will collaborate with a team to create personalized photography experiences for guests to commemorate their cruise vacations. They will capture engaging images in various settings both onboard and ashore, producing high-quality products for sale in our photography storefront.​

As part of a diverse department encompassing Portrait, Souvenir, and Wedding photography, as well as a full retail store, they will work under the Photo Management team's guidance to meet image quotas and sales targets, ensuring guest satisfaction and achieving budget goals. Additional duties may be assigned to consistently exceed guest expectations and uphold high product and service standards.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Proactively greet guests in the photo gallery and assist guests in using digital photo kiosks and make selections of their favorite photos and packages.
• Clearly explain the products and services to guests and always open and close Guest interactions using effective sales techniques.
• Photograph all requested events onboard and ashore as scheduled by the Photo Manager.
• Meet established performance goals.
• Deliver excellent customer service by presenting a friendly, warm, and calm attitudetowards guests and crew.
• Competently use and be familiar with a range of photographic equipment, including but not limited to digital SLR cameras, portrait studio equipment, computers and image editing software.
• Ensure photographs are captured correctly and tagged with the guest cabins per instruction from Photo manager and Assistant Photo Managers.
• Wear mascot costumes inside/outside the ship for photo shoots when required, engaging guests with lively energy and enthusiasm at all times.
• Uses POS to accurately charge each transaction as directed by management.
• Participates attentively in training and staff meetings with management.
• Performs other related duties as assigned or as directed. The omission of specific duties does not preclude the supervisor from assigning duties that are logically related to the position.
• Must be familiar with the Safety and Environmental Protection Policy and the SMS, and carry out the policies and procedures appropriate for his/her position.

EDUCATION

• High School Diploma or Foreign Equivalent is required.
• Bachelor’s Degree or foreign equivalent from a recognized educational institution is preferred.
